The period of time between Halloween and Thanksgiving is always a tough one for me. I desperately want to be crafting and decorating for Christmas, but skipping over Thanksgiving projects just seems wrong. So today I decided to create a couple of “crossover” cards – thank you cards in autumnal tones that have just a hint of winter and things to come. The two new layering floral stamp sets in the latest release from Rubbernecker were the perfect images to use for these pretty autumn bouquets.
PEONY BOUQUET CARD
The beautiful Sweet Peony stamp set layers up to create two flowers of different sizes on long stems, but I used just the blooms along with some pine cones and berry sprigs from the Winter Bouquet stamp set to build kind of a rustic wedding bouquet placed atop a woodgrain background. It would be a great thank you card for a late autumn wedding!
- Stamp blooms from the Sweet Peony Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Posey, Scarlet, and Nectar inks from Color Fuse Set #4.
- Die cut them out using the coordinating dies.
- Stamp the leafy branches from the Spring Meadows Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Fern, Basil, and Azure inks from Color Fuse Set #11, Color Fuse Set #10, and Color Fuse Set #7, respectively. Using a stamp positioning tool, apply these inks to different areas of the silhouette stamps with a foam blending tool and re-stamp each time to yield tons of color variation and depth.
- Die cut the branches out with the coordinating dies.
- Change the look of the bouquet filler images in the Winter Bouquet Stamp Set by stamping them in fall colors. Use orange and brown shades from Color Fuse Set #2 and Color Fuse Set #3 to stamp the berries and pine cones. Stamp a few pine sprigs using Basil ink.
- Cut all of the images out using the coordinating dies.
- Stamp the Wood Grain Fence Background onto white cardstock using Chill ink. Trim the panel to 4″ x 5.25″ and mat it with navy blue cardstock trimmed to 4.125″ x 5.375″ before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white cardbase.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Best Friends Etc Stamp Set in Azure Ink onto white cardstock and die cut it into a small strip using the Nested Deckle Rectangle Dies.
- Arrange the peonies, pine cones, berries, and leafy branches into a bouquet in the center of the card front and adhere down with liquid glue and foam adhesive for lots of dimension.
- Adhere the sentiment beneath the bouquet with foam adhesive.
AUTUMN DAISY CORNERS CARD
I love daisies and think they work all year round, but thought it would be fun to throw some fall and winter accents in and arrange them on top of a subtle background showing some late-fall nearly-bare branches.
- Stamp the blooms from the Field of Daisies Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Color Fuse Set #2 and Color Fuse Set #3. Each time you stamp a layer, apply the leftover ink to a separate piece of white cardstock to create a cream-colored bloom by way of second generation stamping.
- Die cut the flower images out with the coordinating dies.
- Die cut white cardstock using the Maple Leaves Die.
- Color the leaves quickly with brown, red, orange, and yellow Copic markers. Leave the coloring a bit splotchy for a realistic autumn leaves feel.
- Stamp the Tree Branch Background onto navy blue cardstock with Versamark ink, add clear embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool. Trim the panel to 4″ x 5.25″ and adhere to a top-folding A2-size white card base with foam adhesive.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Sweet Peony Stamp Set onto navy blue cardstock using Versamark Ink, add gold embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool. Fussy-cut the sentiment out with scissors.
- Arrange the daisies, pine cones, leaves, and berries in the lower left and upper right corners of the card front. Adhere them down with liquid glue and multiple layers of foam adhesive for tons of dimension.
- Add the sentiment between the two autumn sprays with foam adhesive.
I hope you enjoyed these autumn bouquet thank you cards and thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the latest release at Rubbernecker Stamps and visit their Facebook Fan Group for tons of inspiration!
