I haven’t posted a card in a while, so I thought I would stop by quickly today to share this simple one I made using some older stamps that I had in my stash. You can still find these on Amazon and eBay, but I’m pretty sure they fit the “retired” category I’m going for on Wednesdays.
I inked up both of my cheap acrylic stamps with Versamark ink, stamped them onto some Early Espresso cardstock from Stampin’ Up, and gave them a coating of Zing gold glitter embossing powder. The sketchy fall kitty is from the “Fall Fields” set by Inkadinkado and the sentiment is taken from TPC Studio’s “Autumn Harvest” set. I had seen a pretty fall place setting on Pinterest that I loved and it used browns, teals, and golds, so I mounted the whole panel on some teal glimmer paper from DCWV.
To add the bow, I just pierced holes on either side of my kitty and wrapped the card front with some gold metallic twine from Two Berry Creative. I kinda like how it turned out to look like a horizon line behind him. The enamel bow is from My Mind’s Eye…I colored over it with a teal Copic to get that sketchy dark outline and give it a little more emphasis.
Overall, I’m not thrilled with the glitter embossing powder…but these have been pretty popular again lately so I thought I would try it out. It’s probably not something I’ll use again except for edging or backgrounds (especially since it’s almost as messy as regular glitter!).
