12 Days of Stitchmas Advent Calendar from Spellbinders

Welcome back friends!  Today I am so excited to share a couple of projects along with an unboxing and process video for the 12 Days of Stitchmas Advent Calendar from Spellbinders.  If you don’t want to see what’s inside of this amazing box of goodies, then scroll no further!  We’re ripping it open to take a look at all twelve holiday-themed stitching die sets and then creating a matching card and gift tag with one of them.  (You can see the rest of the September release here…so much fun stuff this month!)

Here is a quick snapshot of all twelve stitching die sets included in the calendar.  You can see that they are all generously-sized, but also have pretty simple stitching patterns on them…so this is perfect if you or a person you are gifting it to are a beginner to stitching on paper!

DAY 9 – STITCHED ORNAMENT DIE SET

We’ll be using the simple stitched ornament die set from behind door number 9 for today’s projects.  I decided to create a matching card and gift tag and kept the stitching and design quite simple to let the fun die-cuts be the star of the show.

First I cut the ornament out of Raindrop Cardstock and stitched it up with a single strand of silver  metallic thread for a simple and elegant look.  After embossing a sentiment onto Cosmic Sky Cardstock in white with the House Mouse Merry & Bright Stamp Set, I cut it out using the Create A Decorative Tag Die Set and popped my stitched ornament up on top for a quick and easy gift tag.

Next, I cut two ornaments out of Raindrop and Waterfall Cardstock and inked them around the edges with Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  After stitching them up with three strands of white thread for a bolder look, I added some of the pretty gems from the Stitch Along Kit to each stitched center.  A subtle textured background was created with the Vintage Ornaments 3D Embossing Folder and I added a sentiment foiled in Cobalt Hot Foil using the A Merry Little Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set to  complete the card.
