Spellbinders May 2021 Clubs Blog Hop

Hi all!  Today I’m so excited to be participating in a blog hop celebrating the gorgeous May 2021 Club Kits from Spellbinders.  If you’re a new visitor to my blog, I’m Annie and I love all things paper – handmade cards, gifts, and home décor.  You should have arrived here from Bibi’s blog, but if this is your first stop, you can click here to start back at the beginning.  Don’t forget to leave a comment on the blog for a chance to win a $50 store credit for Spellbinders products!

I never got a chance to use the beautiful stitched flower dies from this month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, so I decided to go back and create a card with them today.  After cutting them out of white cardstock, I thought I would try a little ink blending before stitching.  For the leaves, I blended Squeezed Lemonade and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink over them with a sponge dauber and then stitched them with a slightly darker green thread.  For the flowers, I blended Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, and Abandoned Coral Distress Ink over them before adding a medium orange or dark coral thread to them.

The beautiful sentiment from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit was stamped onto white cardstock with Versamark Ink and embossed in gold before cutting it out with the second largest die from the Picot Petite Ovals die set.  I added a shadow layer behind this panel cut out of Mirror Gold Cardstock for another touch of warm gold.

After trimming a piece of Waterfall Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″, I embossed it with the Simply Perfect Florets Embossing Folder before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive.  Then I added the decorative oval in the center and popped the stitched flowers and leaves around the bottom with foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed this bright birthday card made with the May 2021 Large Die of the Month Kit.  Keep on hopping for tons of inspiration using the kits and a chance to win store credit for Spellbinders products!  Your next stop is Becky’s blog, but here’s the entire list in case you’ve missed a stop or need to start back at the beginning:
