Happy first day of November! The new club kits are here from Spellbinders and I have something extra special to share today…the brand new Clear Stamp of the Month Kit! Christmas Gem is a fresh take on classic Christmas elements and definitely nothing like any of the other stamp sets I have in my stash.
This gorgeous photopolymer stamp set features 13 stamps including the large stunning gem all decked out for Christmas, coordinating flower and sprig images perfect for stamping a swag or wreath, and a bunch of pretty and modern sentiments. At just $10, this new kit club is a steal and I can’t wait to see what new designs they have in store for us every month!
I started by trimming a piece of blue cardstock to 5.375″ x 4.125″ and stamping the large gem image in the center with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. After coloring it in with Prismacolor Pencils, I darkened the outlines of the floral elements with my black colored pencil and traced over the edges of the gem with my white colored pencil.
The middle of the gem is the perfect size to add one of the greetings into, but I didn’t want to cover up any of my coloring so I stamped it in the lower corner with Versamark Ink, added white embossing powder, and melted it with a heat tool. Then I blended Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks around the edges of the panel with blending brushes before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. I love the way the image looks like it’s glowing.
