Missing a friend or loved one and looking for a special way to let them know you’re thinking of them? This circle easel card is bright and cheery and easy to make with some gorgeous new stamps and dies coming to HSN on July 11th from Crafter’s Companion!
To create the easel card base, start by trimming a piece of 110lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock to about the same length, but double the width of a basic scalloped circle die (here I’m using a 5″ circle die with about 5″ x 10″ cardstock).
Score and fold the cardstock in half, place the die slightly over the folded edge of the cardstock (shown above – top left), and run this through your die-cutting machine several times until the die cuts through both layers (it should look like the double-circle die-cut shown above at the right when unfolded).
Using the same die, cut a single scalloped circle from 110lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock (shown above – bottom left).
Score the top layer of the double-circle die-cut across the center and fold it downward as shown. Apply adhesive to the semi-circle (the top part that is visible above) and press the single scalloped circle directly on top of the adhesive.
Using a die that is slightly smaller than the scalloped circle above, die-cut a circle from Blue Raspberry Pop Tone Cardstock. Center the “Butterfly Circle” die (sneak peek – will be available on July 11th on HSN!) on the die-cut and run through your die-cutting machine once more.
Stamp the coordinating “Butterfly Circle” design (included with the die) onto the card front in Versamark ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool. I used a stamp positioning tool to easily line the stamped image up within the cut borders of the design, but it could easily be done by hand as well.
Add a metallic sentiment to the center of the circle by rubbing an adhesive foil transfer design onto the Blue Raspberry Cardstock with a bone folder. Then, place silver foil on top and burnish it into the adhesive with your finger.
Adhere the Blue Raspberry panel to the front of the card with foam adhesive and bend the die-cut butterfly wings upward. For a fun pop of color, die-cut another circle from Limeade Pop Tone Cardstock and adhere it to the inside of the card with tape runner.
Stamp several small flowers from the “Allium Flowers” stamp set (available on July 11th on HSN) onto vellum with Versamark ink, cover with white embossing powder, and melt with your heat tool. Color the back of the vellum with Spectrum Noir marker PP4 and fussy cut them out. Shape the petals for a little dimension.
Adhere the vellum flowers to the bottom corner of the inside of the card with strong liquid glue. Add sparkly clear rhinestones to the centers of the flowers and scattered around the rest of the card.
When closed, this super dimensional and cheery circle easel card will fit into 5.5″ square envelope and can be sent fluttering on its way to brighten someone’s day.
I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek of new stamps and dies coming soon to HSN from Crafter’s Companion…don’t forget to tune in on July 11th to see all of the new products and I’ll be back with more peeks next week!
